Part 1: Pray
Recently I have really started to pray for the Shan village that we are teaching at. After all when one girl has no spark or light in her eyes, and another is quiet and shy, and yet another who's zest for life just makes you smile. When a college students strives to learn, and a little boy writes down everything you are teaching, or when as old man ask for a Bible. How can you not love them? And if you love them how can you not pray or them?
Prayer and love go hand in hand; after all if you love someone you want them to experience the same kind of joy you have. God says "love your neighbor as yourself"...If you were your neighbor and did not have the hope of Jesus Christ in you, wouldn't you want you neighbor to pray for you? Our neighbors are everyone...The girl across the street, the boy in another state, the family in another country, people group in a different continent.
Please join me in praying for the Shan people; they need the hope that only Christ can give them.
Pray that God will bring a light to Ying's eyes, pray that Dua will step out and ask questions, pray that Shampoo will turn her zest for life, to a zest for Christ.
Pray that Jamsing will be able to learn about Jesus, as well as English; pray that Game will read and study the 101 story book we gave him. Pray for the old man who has the Bible (we haven't seen him in months)
Pray for all our children: pray that Pooh will be able to learn quickly, pray for Dow that she would also have a light spark in her eye, pray that Ling would hear about Jesus, even though she often doesn't come to class. Pray for Duan that her young life could be pointed to Jesus.
Pray for the people in the village, for the parents, for the other children, pray that Satan would have no hold on them, pray that the 101 Bible story books would have an affect on the kids and their parents.
Pray that their hearts and minds would be open.
Pray that we can teach them, love them, and show them.
These children have no hope, this is our chance, not just mine but yours as well. Prayer can make a difference! Prayer has made a difference! It's a miracle that we can even teach in this village after all!
"But let him ask in faith with no doubting." James 1:6a
Please remember these people in prayer...Because with a little work, a lot of prayer, and an amazing God, we can do anything! And these people will hear!
Yes, our God is great and He can do amazing things through simply praying. I'll be praying! God bless you all as you minister 4 Him!
